serious about SOLO TRAVEL.
I’ve always been a traveler but solo travel was something I stumbled into when I was left with the decision to take a birthday trip by myself, or to not take a trip at all.
I was turning 28 and I was dying to go to Costa Rica for my birthday - I extended the invite to pretty much everyone in my life and collected declines. It seemed like everyone’s solution was “just go by yourself”… going somewhere I had never been, by myself, was uncharted territory; but my fear of missing out overrode my fear of traveling alone. So I went.
It was obviously amazing and now I am happily addicted to exploring new places by myself. Along the way I’ve learned more than once that if I keep waiting around for people to come with me, I’ll miss out on visiting all the beautiful places I’ve dreamt about.
So here we are, in this cute little corner of the internet where you get to be your own wingman.
