5 Travel Apps I Can’t Live Without on International Trips
TG for technology when traveling, am I right?! It makes things so much easier. Here are the apps I can’t live without while traveling - especially when I’m solo.
Google Maps
Google Maps does wonders when travelling internationally. It’s the best to getting around the country you’re visiting and I love using it to see which restaurants are nearby or recommended. It’s easy to use and provides walking directions. It also provides great public transit directions if you are planning to use transit in whichever city you are in.
City Mapper
This is great for cities where you’re going to rely on public transportation. It displays live updates between any two locations in a supported city for all urban modes of transport, including walking, cycling and driving, in addition to public transport. It’s especially useful in cities like London, Paris, Zurich where you are primarily using public transportation.
Wanderlog
This is the itinerary app I use to plan all my trips in advance. It lets you input your accommodations, flight information, and map out attractions on a map. It will even time out route from location to location with driving, walking, or transit information. I also like the feature that top sights and restaurants based on reviews.
What’sApp
This is an instant messaging app that almost everyone outside of the U.S. uses to communicate. You’ll want to have it to talk to tour companies, accommodations, and other foreigners you meet along the way.
Google Translate
This seems like an obvious one but it’s important to mention. This is more prevalent in non-English speaking countries to help you communicate with drivers, locals, bars/restaurants, etc. It’ll help bridge the communication gap.
