What I Wore in Croatia

A Complete Guide to Everything I Wore Traveling Throughout Croatia

For this trip, I picked a color palette that consisted of neutrals, black, and a pop of blue and green. The weather was hot during the day then it got cooler at night so layers were key. I was limited on outfits and re-wore a lot of stuff in various ways because I only brought a carry-on. I did not want to haul a big suitcase up, down, and around cobble streets (it’s low key embarrassing lol). I didn’t have a connecting flight so I was scared of my suitcase getting lost because travel in 2023 is a nightmare these days - so a carryon it was!

Dubrovnik City Walls

Let’s try to ignore my very dirty shoes and the random person’s thumb in the bottom right haha. These shoes got tossed after this trip, don’t worry. Anyways… I knew that Dubrovnik was very orange/red so I wanted to wear white for contrast. I got this dress from Zara because something breathable was important to me - I think it’s sold out so I listed similar options. Little did I know it would be windy so maybe not the best choice but it looked cute! I probably would’ve opted for a romper instead. I also added the one I brought but wish I wore on this day instead.

Dubrovnik Game of Thrones Spots

I knew I wanted something comfy, casual, but also very cute. I stuck with the basic, neutral color palette because I knew Croatia was colorful in itself. This was a great outfit because if it got too hot, I could take the blazer/jacket off but this day was pretty chilly with a little bit of rain so I was glad to have had the blazer. I ended up wearing this blazer with a lot of different outfits over dresses and as a jacket to stay warm and dress things up!

We did a lot of walking this day and while I love my Puma’s, after awhile they start to get uncomfortable walking in. I’ve heard the Dr. Scholl’s white sneakers are great but haven’t personally tried them. I would recommend trying to find a cute white sneaker, that you could walk all day long in.

Alleyways & Stairways

When I was looking up Croatia on Pinterest, I consistently saw these types of alleyways and stairs so I wanted to wear something solid. I only brought solids on this trip because they are easier to pack in order to rotate them in outfits. I loved this dress because it was comfy, long for the cooler nights. Sandals are a great break from closed-toe shoes and they are easy to pack. I stuck with sandals at night because there was less walking. One time I wore sandals all day and had the worst blisters - do NOT recommend :)

Hvar

On every trip, I bring a white button down because it goes with literally everything. It can be dressed up, dress downed or as a bathing suit cover. It was a bit chilly in the shade so I threw this on over jean shorts, a blue tank, and white sneakers to just have a casual lunch and walk around Hvar.

I went to Croatia during the Sofia Richie era - where all of us girlies wanted became obsessed with her . I knew Hvar was a port with these incredible looking boats and it was giving old money vacation vibes. That was my inspiration for the photo on the right. Linen shorts so they are breathable, a black tee, and a belt. I wanted to wear it with sandals but we were doing so much walking this day into the night, I stuck with my white sneakers.
